SPANISH SQUAD HEADING FOR SWEDEN

Just a few days to go before the Spanish Squad head to the most important tournament on their cricket calendar, the ICC World Europe Division Two Championships.

Spain will play in a round robin tournament against Israel, Isle of Man, Gibraltar, Gemany and hosts Sweden.

The 14 strong squad include 8 players from the 2014 tournament at La Manga and Faran Afzal also has ICC Competition experience from a previous tournament in Belgium. The five newcomers include four players that are based in Cataluyna and Jamie Roper of Sporting Alfas, who was called up after a family bereavement for Yasin Muhammad. Cricket Espana send our condolences to Yasin at this very difficult time.  

The squad is completed by three staff, coach Bobby Denning, manager Manuel Fernandez and physio Miguel Munoz Blasco.

Spain start their campaign against the hosts Sweden at the Gardnet ground and then the same afternoon entertain Isreal at the Skarpnack Two Ground.

The following afternoon Spain are matche up against Germany at Skarpnack One and the next day have a match up with the Isle of Man at Skarpnack Two.

Spain’s final game is with Gibraltar and that will take placethe morning of the 20th at Gardnet.
